I just got done installing a referral system within the Forums and thought to kick start it I would give out some free things for those people who take the time to refer others to the Forums. These prizes start out at a free DVD and work their way up to a Free Wii or XBox (for those go getters out there). If you didn’t catch it in the Forums, you can get a free CD, DVD, or Video Game by registering at the Barter Bee website. What does registering consist of? You give your name, address, and phone number (must give your real phone number) and that is it. It took me two minutes and I ended up selecting the DVD “8 Mile” for free (the selection is pretty decent for the free items). This site is a competitor to the site that I mentioned here which does the same thing (except they only deal with video games). And who says you can’t get something for nothing?

I came across a website that will send out free faxes for you (which is very helpful at least for me because it is always a hassle when I need to fax something), all you simply do is attach the file you want to send and fill out the appropriate info and there you go. This magic faxing site can be found Here… So I went to Walmart today to get some regular every day things and as I was wandering through the store I was price comparing things to the deals I have seen online recently. Let me tell you that Walmart for all their “we have everyday low prices” does not even compare to Amazon.com for the items I was looking at. Amazon has the Scene It! Movielink is a Legal online movie site (I think Blockbuster bought them) and they are running an ongoing promotion where you can download a ’surprise’ movie for $0.99 or less… might be worth a shot if you’re bored and have a buck to spare.
If you’re planning on booking a trip you may want to consider using Orbitz to help save you some money. If you’ve never used Orbitz before you should check it out (if for no other reason then to price compare) before you make any permanent arrangements. Orbitz also offers last minute trips, flights, etc… at big discounts. When an airline has some extra seats on a flight in a few days they contact Orbitz to sell those seats at a Huge discount, this has made for some very discounted weekend vacations I have taken
Match.com is offering a free 7 day trial for their service OR 15% off your membership if you wanted to join for longer then 7 days. I know Match.com is one of the most (if not the most) popular online dating website, but other then that common tidbit of knowledge I don’t know much else about them (since I’m not single), but if you are single then I guess a free 7 day trial couldn’t hurt to test out the waters…

Ebay is my favorite site to shop on in all of cyberspace but a not so distant #2 is Amazon.com. Amazon usually has some very appealing deals but the issue is they are not advertised and you only find out about them if you are searching for something and it happens to be on sale or by word of mouth, so what I am going to do is make a living list of deals I find on Amazon.com, so if you’re a fan of Amazon.com you may want to bookmark this post as I’ll try to add items at least once or twice a week if not more (the newest items I find I will place at the top of this post for your convenience)… Read the rest of this entry »
My Plasma TV is on its way and should be received in about 6 weeks.
The final tally is in on how much effort/cost I had to put into this project. I spent 4 hours of my time between signing up for the offers, calling to cancel the offers, and returning some items from offers that I received so I could get refunds. My final cost of this project was $27 (after refunds). So in summation, I spent 4 hours of my time and $27 of my money and will be getting a 42′ Samsung Plasma TV shipped to me for free.
