I’m a fan of Amazon.com’s Prime Service.  I signed up for a year and I’ve used it maybe 50 times since I signed up so far so I’ve gotten my money’s worth.  Prime (if you’re not familiar) is Amazon.com’s two day shipping service.  You order something and you’ll have it in 2 days and the 2 day shipping is free (at least during the trial offer).  You can Sign Up Here to test it out for a month on the house.  What is also pretty awesome is that you can have things shipped not only to yourself but to other people with Prime.  I’ve spent $15-$20 dollars before to ship a birthday gift to a relative, but if you can find that gift on Amazon you can have them ship it for free using this trial.  Avoiding the post office definitely makes the top ten list of why I think Prime rocks. 

If the grocery stores are giving you the blues with their raised prices and/or smaller packaging here’s something to cheer you up, you can choose from over 4,000 items at Amazon’s Grocery store (see the list of items here) and you can use code: AUGMKDWN  when you checkout to take 40% off your order!  I haven’t gone through the list of items yet but I’m sure there will be some things I can stock up on at a reduced rate.  If you’re feeling really wild, you could sign up for the free Prime trial, then order groceries, use the code to get 40% off and have Prime ship it to you for free and they’ll be at your front door in 2 days.  Save money on groceries, save money on gas by not having to drive to the supermarket, save yourself some time by ordering online… it’s a win/win/win situation.

 Just an FYI ~ My local Olive Garden has the “All you Can Eat Pasta” for $8.95.  I asked them if this was nationwide and they said that only certain stores are participating so make sure you can ahead to check before you drive there and curse me if you can’t get your fill of pasta for $9.
