If you haven’t heard on the news, General Motors is offering a 0% interest rate for 72 month (i.e. 6 years) on select models for qualified buyers.  This could save you anywhere from $4,000-$8,000 (on average, it depends on what interest rate you would get normally).  And with as little as $500 down you could pick up a brand new car for relatively low monthly payments (compared to almost every other offer out there).  As an example, a $15,000 brand new car (with a $500 down payment) would cost you around $200/month for the 72 months.  That isn’t bad at all for a brand spanking new car.  You can go here to see all the vehicles that are eligible for this promotion.  My car is 12 years old so even I’m thinking about an upgrade (before my current car dies on me, which with my luck I’d be 200 miles away from home when it happens).
