42′ Panasonic Plasma TV + XBOX 360 + HD-DVD Player = $890!!!
Credit goes to “FW Crossover” who pointed me to this deal…

This is an awesome deal, it does require a little bit of work on your part but in the end it will save you almost a thousand bucks (the t.v. alone goes for $1,399!)…
Please note that you have to go into Best Buy to purchase this deal. To get started you can find a summary page of this deal Here. On this page you will select Yes to everything except the home audio. Here is the link to a Panasonic 42′ Plasma tv that you can select for this deal. Part of this deal is a DirecTV box which you do not have to keep unless you want it. You can either attempt to return it for $99, or if they don’t accept it you can sell it (Ebay is my favorite). Here is a $200 Panasonic rebate that you can get for having Best Buy install this tv set for you (Best Buy charges $100 for installation so you actually make $100 by having them install it). When you purchase a HD-DVD player they will automatically discount it $100 if you are purchasing a tv at the same time.
Here is a good summary that “timothy86″ posted on a message board:
1) Purchase any HDTV $999 and up – could be plasma, LCD, Rear Projection…
2) Purchase a Direct TV HD reciever for $99 – Get a $300 discount on TV, cancel service a day later and return/sell HD receiver.
3) Have Best Buy install the tv (if Panasonic) for $200. – Get a $100 discount on TV. You only save if you are buying a Panasonic which has an additional $200 rebate for having it installed, otherwise don’t choose installation.
4) Purchase a Home Theater System for $499 and up and get $100 off the tv – (This probably won’t save you anything so I wouldn’t do it)
5) Purchase blu-ray or HD-DVD player – get $100 of the tv. (Again – this depends on whether you want one or not.
6) Purchase a PS3 or Xbox 360 and get $100 off.
This deal is absolutely unbeatable for the price. You could even try to return the XBOX and HD-DVD player if you wanted to and they may give you full price refund for them (keep in mind that the discount of $100 for each of them is taken off the tv price, so this would knock the deal down to $220 for a 42′ Panasonic tv with installation if it worked, not too sure how likely returning the XBOX and HD-DVD for full price is…). And if you have a Best Buy rewards card you can get 2% off for good measure. Enjoy the new home entertainment system!
