Cooking Up With a $150 Lowe’s Price Mistake
My girlfriend loves to cook, and I love price mistakes so we both won with this Lowe’s goofup!

Lowe’s guarantees low prices but I don’t think they intended this low price! In Lowe’s weekly circular they mistakenly listed the price of the Kitchenaid mixer for $150. This product normally does not sell for below $300 and to make the deal even sweeter you could have stacked a coupon on top of it and there is a $30 rebate!!!
I went to Lowe’s and picked up their weekly circular. I also brought a 20% off coupon from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I picked up the Kitchenaid mixer (normal price $299.99) and brought it to the register armed with the circular and coupon. The cashier rang it up and asked for payment. I informed him that the price that rang up was incorrect per the Lowe’s circular. This started a half an hour ruckus of two managers coming over, me being told that the item in the circular and the item I had were different, me getting pretty pissed and giving the managers a piece of my mind, followed by me stating that they legally had to honor the price in the circular. So what happened? After one of the managers made a phone call he came back and apologized to me. He took my coupon (because they accept competitor coupons) and my price went from $299 down to $150 and after the coupon to $120. Throw on top of this a $30 rebate which can be found here and I walked away with the mixer for $90 plus tax. For those of you who are not familiar with this mixer it is the top of the line model and is never ever on sale so all in all I am one happy camper (and so is my girlfriend)! The moral of the story, don’t let the retailers talk you down, stick to your guns and remember the customer is always right.

This news is so old, people are telling their grandchildren “they remember when the KitchenAid Artisan Mixers were only $90 after rebate”.

This blog is about good deals. The deal could be from two minutes ago or two weeks ago.

So did you really experience this? Or are you just culling information from other sites. I agree this is old news, been out there for a month now.

Yes, I ‘experienced’ it. I am writing one blog entry per day. I didn’t find any good deals occuring this day so I figured I’d write about an ‘experience’ I had for my blog entry this day. My site is supposed to be fun/informational and about deals that are occuring currently or have occured. Some people enjoy reading about deals that have been out there, I know I do, so I don’t know what your issue is if you have one. If you don’t enjoy reading my blog then you don’t need to. There is no need to put anything down.

No need to get defensive. If this really happened to you, you should have blogged it while the deal was still active, so your readers could have availed of the deal themselves. What’s the use if you post deals that are already dead?

I understand your point. My posts are to inform people but also to entertain them. If I post after a deal is dead then no one can ‘use’ the post but they can still be entertained by it (hopefully)

Hey nothing wrong with that. I’m glad you are sharing these great deals. Cheers!
