Kmart and P&G Team Up to Give Away Free Stuff (by accident)
How’d you like to spend a few dollars and with those few dollars get free stuff, and more free stuff, and more free stuff, etc…?

So Kmart had this wacky promotion going on, you needed to buy 1 pack of Duracell batteries plus any 2 Procter and Gamble products and Kmart would give you a $10 Kmart gift certificate for free. The kicker is, you could buy the 3 items for less then $10!
You can find this coupon in your Kmart and they have tons in them in there (obviously P&G did not think this promotion out very well).

Let’s go over the math. The batteries are $5.50 and there is a $1 instant coupon on them, so they’ll cost you $4.50. The Always pads are $0.99 cents for a box, so you need to spend $2 on them. So you’ll spend $4.50+$1.98+tax = approx. $6.90. They’ll give you a $10 gift card and so you’re really making $3.10. To make it even better, you can go back and do it again and use the gift card to pay the $6.90 and get another $10 gift card plus have $3.10 leftover on your original gift card. You can keep on doing this over and over and over. I had a friend who did this over 10 times. His remote controls will not be battery dead for a while, his girlfriend will have free feminine products, and he has two box set DVD tv’s shows that he bought with the extra money on the gift cards! All for free. Talk about a blue aisle special!

Too late for most people for the following reasons:
1. Most stores will limit 1 copuon per person. (Not per purchase)
2. Most stores won’t have coupons… or if they do, you will have to ask for it… which means you probably won’t get more then one per person.
3. Special on batteries ends today (Saturday). Not sure how much they are next week, but will be more then $5.50.
4. Some k-mart stores will be out of cheap fillers (always pads for $.99? I don’t know anythng about pads, but I got two for $7 each (- a couple of coupons)). Go for ivory soap, 3bar pack (x2) if you use it, 99c this week
5. Some k-marts (but not all) have “Ad Retraction Duracell/P&G promotion…” Basically, instead of giving you $10 gift card on the spot, they are offering a mail in rebate.. And of course 1 per name\address\envelope. They say they will reimberse postage @ $.42 per household
. Still a good deal if you are shoping at k-mart and need batteries and 2 other things and don’t mind doing rebate. (no rebate form, no upc codes required. just print your address on 3×5 and send your receipt to Duracell/Kmart offer P.O. Box 119 Kings Mills,OH 45034.)
The deal is still alive, but for most people it won’t be as easy as the original poster described.
